CBs are a great 4-stroke bikes, very reliable and great gas mileage. Of course Honda makes great bikes. But RD is an amazing 2-stroke. Power characteristics are fantastic on an RD350. All RDs (RD60, RD125, RD200, RD250, RD350, and RD400) are light, nimble and are fast for their respective CCs.two-stroke-vintagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13835170900203694489noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3309819574391333149.post-39227813015981490102011-07-10T09:06:56.973-04:002011-07-10T09:06:56.973-04:00Hello

The emblems on the magneto covers are from the R5, causing some confusion. I built this bike in 1970, after campaigning a double engine drag bike for a while. I sold the bike to Bob Stein in California about 15 years ago. Also it has a close ratio 6speed trans, not the standard ratio trans that came later in the RD350. The only possible swap would have come from the factory Yamaha TR3 350 roadracer which DID have a 6speed trans in 1972 and since it is a close ratio 6speed i have always suspected that was the source. You also said the speedo/tach surrounds were a common swap, can you tell me what model they are from as I have not been able to find any Yamaha model with this slyle.
